    Description

    Selling an amazing 1911 Old Town Guide wood and canvas canoe (serial number 17960).  The canoe spent its entire life on the same street in Madison, CT.  Per the build sheet, it was delivered June 28, 1911 to Madison, where the first owner had a house on the long island sound. In the 1930s, the canoe was passed on to another family a few houses down the street - that family kept the canoe and used it lovingly for the next 80 years! The canoe paddles beautifully after 110 years and glides with ease thanks to a full keel. It was was restored in the mid 1990s by Schuyler Thomson. The canvas is separating and cracked near the gunwales on the deck (see pictures) - the bottom section of the canvas is in great shape but it should probably be recanvased at some point.
