Adorable Vintage Composition Patsy Doll with Original Dress & Shoes, 14”.. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This is one of my personal favorites, an Effanbee Patsy, first issued in 1928 in this 14” size. She is an all-composition doll who is nicely strung, so that she can both stand on her own and sit. She is in good condition. She has an area of cracked and lifting paint behind her molded headband on top of her head. She has flaking and missing paint, mainly on the side of her head, with the most unfortunate location bejng on the end of her little nose. Still, I see no evidence of repaint and she has richer coloring than most Patsys (I might have a few for comparison!!), with darker hair and eyes. This pretty little girl is marked EffanBee / PATSY / Pat. Pend. / DOLL on her back. She also has her original heart bracelet as further identification, lol.
Patsy’s outfit appears to be at least mostly original, with a faded dress in a known Effanbee pink floral print, and a rough onesie with raw top edges that is open all the way down her back but retains lace around the leg openings. She wears rayon stockings with some noticeable foxing, and her original red side-snap shoes. One snap is almost pulled apart from the strap, and one of the buckles is darker than the other. The shoes are obviously fragile and I have never attempted to remove them. I added the vintage pink bonnet and think it suits her, as well as protecting her molded hair, so sending it along.
