from fascia out to most outer edge (horizontally) to make sure this will fit your 4 inch gutter.
These will fit most steel or aluminum 4 inch gutters (
will not work on plastic gutters

Can be used along side spikes in older spiked in gutters to reinforce
1-1/2 corrosion resistant screw included can be easily installed with cordless drill with 1/4 inch nut driver tip
Most gutters are now 5 inch,
however older gutters where 4 inch and some big box stores only sell 4 inch in western regions of the USA
