Norman Collins Rum.  Well, that doesn't exactly have the same ring to it as Sailor Jerry Rum, but that's who Sailor Jerry really was.  Here is your history lesson, the Cliff Notes version.
Norman Collins was a tattoo artist and a "salty" one at that.  He actually was a captain of a schooner that toured the Hawaiian islands.  The quote of his that I like best is, "I haven't done my best yet…only my best so far."  Words to live by for all of us.
I'll leave it to you to find out exactly what happened to him and how he fits in with rum.  He was definitely an interesting character.
