    Description

    Welcome to my ebay store:
It is not often I come across a vintage 1930s/40s Composition doll that is in as WONDERFUL a condition as this doll! While I expect to restring with the drying of original rubber bands I also expect to do a LOT of composition repair, replacement wigs etc.
    This doll is the exception.
I am selling this doll for an elderly friend whose wife was a lover of dolls and recently passed. Check back as I am selling a few Doll items for him, mostly from 1930s to 1960s at latest.
This absolute STUNNER Effanbee Doll was kept by his wife in a red doll trunk for years. I restrung her, her original rubber banding had dried out completely from age, I also washed and ironed her dress, panties, and dress ribbon only to remove slight musty smell from age as well NO mending was needed. LOOK at her, she is truly gorgeous! READY TO DISPLAY. My impression was that she was stored since purchase after maybe brief playing.
She is wearing her original clothing and EVERYTHING-- from socks/shoes to dress and original hair set is just amazing. Her coloring is superb as you can see, original nail polish looks wonderful! She stands 18" tall, is Marked EFFANBEE USA only, not Anne Shirley and I have read that not all AS dolls were marked with her name...but I am listing her as a Little Lady doll as well as Anne Shirley as I am not 100% positive what doll she is.
Being stored in a doll trunk for MANY YEARS has it's up side:
Her shoes look brand new, her rayon socks are perfect. While in the original set her (human) Hair could use a bit of tucking here and there, original hair pins still in place. She has a bit of crazing on face but nothing really imo to worry about. I did fill some of the cracks in her face and back hip butt area with compo care and buffed, to help prevent further issues. Being in our super dry climate and stored in a doll trunk in blankets kept her positively near mint. Look at the shine on her legs, glow on her face! There is always some crazing to be expected with these dolls but overall she is looking wonderful.
Truly a WONDERFUL example of a little lady for a serious collector.
I have listed the RED metal Steamer type doll trunk in my store separately if anyone would like to see her in a case or is hunting for a circa 1950s Doll trunk also in near MINT condition. It is big for her but she fits fine with room for accessories clothes etc.
I will be listing some ADORABLE depression era handmade painted Doll furniture soon from this same friend's collection so check back. Adorable swing, crib etc painted in pinks and greens that you only find on circa 1930s items in wonderful condition! Check soon as I list new items daily.
I am one of the last doll doctors in Colorado and have been getting many requests to help elderly clients downsize their doll collections or sell for spouses who have passed so you will see more listings upcoming, in particular Barbie! Dolls, dresses, accessories.
Thanks so much for stopping in and do follow me!
All items ship usually SAME DAY from my smoke free home.
