Two Vintage Composition Effanbee Patsy Family Dolls, About 14”, Patricia & Patsy.
These two sweet old Effanbee Patsy dolls date from the mid-1930’s and are made of composition. One is slightly taller than the other, and is marked “Patricia” on her back. She has sleep eyes with almost all lashes, with crackling but no chips in the irises. Her arms and head have a lot of flaking and both torso and legs are badly crazed. Her pretty face has faired better. Patsy is almost 13” tall. She is in good condition, with much of her paint intact. She has what appears to be a home repair on her little mouth, which is obvious in her closeups but less so in person as I didn’t immediately notice it. Although both have original paint, it is interesting how different their skin tones are. Patsy has good stringing and can hold a pose, while Patricia’s arms are floppy. I thought it would be nice to keep these adorable sisters together, since they were found languishing in a drawer together, unclothed, at an estate sale, when I added them to my collection. They deserve better! :-))
