Description

Purchased Restored 30 years ago at Rutabaga in Madison, WI, from the original owner's private collection.  RARE... last 2 years of production made in 1942-43 at the Thompson factory in Peshtigo, WI, before all of their efforts went to producing small boats for the war effort...  the only Hiawatha's made without cane seats!
Beautiful.  We decorate with it on the hanging from the roof of our Outfitter's "Christmas Tent" and take it out on the lakes of CT and MA in the summer.
It's History... it's Art... It's manufacturing and boat-building like nothing available today.  The Hiawatha models had Half-Ribs so they could carry a heavy load...  people, furs, equipment, gear, you can stand in them and fish...  remarkably stable!
My kids live in Chicago and don't have anywhere to store it and we are down-sizing and moving to Florida.  Our baby needs a new family to love it like we did.  Includes two oars and I have a THULE padded kit and straps to help you get it home.
