Lots of yoga classes in different flows, with a focus on Vinyasa yoga from offline studios in NYC and LA. Meditation
Y7 is an online and offline yoga studio for women and men. It’s specialized in vinyasa yoga, meditation and chakra opening. The lessons are in on demand format, separated on different themes. You may choose the yoga lessons to stay fit, to be more positive, to relax or to open chakra.
Y7 works both as an offline and online outfit. It works as a part of Yoga Alliance, so the teachers here are professionals, they love their work and really know how to train. After some of the offline programs (on which you need to spend 200 or 300 hours) you may even become the yoga teacher yourself. But unfortunately this option is available as an online class only. Also you may learn about the main programs of offline classes and so on.
But I was interested in online lessons, so I’ve checked the Y7 Online webpage.
If you want to train, you need to buy a subscription. One month costs 16 dollars, one year costs 192 dollars. There’s also a 7-day free trial, if you want to check the service before paying. If you’re subscribed, you’ll get access to all lessons. A minor exception are the long programs, here you need to finish the class before being able to train further.
So. If you’re on the main page of the Y7 Online website, you may watch the trailer or start training
After you press the “Start Watching” button you need to fill in a little form, point your name, your card and choose the abonnement you’ve liked the most (month/year). Also, a cool thing: free trial will start automatically. It’s not a big deal, but cool anyway!
But I am always interested in the visual side of any service. And what offers us Y7?
The design of the site is interesting and pretty. As I like minimalism, for me it was a big pleasure to use it.
You may get the information about the addresses of the offline studios (all of them are located in the USA, of course), learn about the anti-COVID actions of Y7 and read about the offline programs (including the preparation of the yoga trainers). There’s also a web shop, where you can buy useful stuff for your training. And of course you have a page for online lessons.
Well, it’s all the things on the site. The functional is small and minimalistic, you have the main information, the simple design and that’s all. But for the lovers of minimalism like me it’s much cooler than also those bright and overloaded sites of many other studios. After all, the less functional you have the less problems will meet the user, am I right?
Ah, the smartphones. If you have an iPhone, you may use an app. For the users of Android you may use the mobile version of the site only, unfortunately. It’s quite usable, but the app is always better. The score of аn app is 5.0, users are leaving positive reviews
Y7 offers us multiple-days programs, like courses to raise your energy or open the chakra. You can also see the playlists with videos, like for example the playlist with new lessons. Or playlists of videos united with one theme. The other playlists are the popular lessons, stretching, vinyasa yoga, power training, and lessons for your mind (to relax and meditate). Also every class has its own level of difficulty, but you may choose the hard ones right from the start, so it’s mostly just a warning.
You can also read the short description of any class before opening it, which is useful if you haven’t trained before. When the lesson is chosen, you click on it and then can watch the video or/and add it to your own playlist. Every video has a short promo before the actual lesson.
Also there are collections of videos, for example an energy series, where every day you open a new chakra.
The difficulty of every lesson is specified, but even if you’re a beginner you can try your best in the “hard” exercises.
There are also power training and bonus lessons.
And finally the yoga for your mind.
You can also read the short description of any class before opening it, which is useful if you haven’t trained before.
When the lesson is chosen, you click on it and then can watch the video or/and add it to your own playlist. Every video has a short promo before the actual lesson.
In the video the trainer shows you the exercises and tells you what you need to do. You can choose the speed of playing and video quality, also there’s the comment section under any lesson.
Also, Y7 yoga studio doesn’t offer live streams which are common for online studios. There’s also no community. Of course, you may leave a comment, but you can’t see how many people are training right row with you, learning something about other users. No, you may only train. But it fits really well with the minimalistic approach of the site, nothing distracts you from your yoga training.
The studio grows really fast, it’s popular among the American fans of yoga. Some of them are attracted by the interesting feature: modern music is used in lessons.
As I’ve said, Y7 is a part of Yoga Alliance, so they are really serious about all the standards and rules. They are professionals. But of course it doesn’t affect the friendly atmosphere among the people involved!,
Well, for me Y7 is one of the more interesting yoga studios on the market. Good usability of the site and the app, new approach, cool design. You really need to pay attention to this online yoga studio!
