This is an original July, 1937 Telephone Directory from Harvard, Illinois published by the Illinois Bell Telephone Company. It also includes some listings from Chemung township, Dunham township, Hartland township and Alden township. The book measures 6-1/8" x 9-1/4" and has 8 pages. The pages have residential listings and business listings together. There is an ad for Stompanato's beauty parlor on the back cover. The first page has ads for the D. Herely & Sons Grocery & General Merchandise and the Meseck Motor Company. (E-mail me if you would like me to check for a name of a residence or a business.) The booklet is in very good condition - the pages are browned with age and somewhat brittle - there is some toning along the edges of the cover. A NICE PIECE OF HARVARD HISTORY AND WOULD MAKE A GREAT GIFT FOR SOMEONE WHO LIVED THERE DURING THAT TIME! First class postage is $5.00. Telephone directories are great tools for genealogy research - they list who lived in the town and what businesses were there at a specific time.
